Recipe: Shepherd's Pie (recipe from family friend) - 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 large or 2 reg. carrots
- 2 onions (small)
- 2 sticks celery
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 small can V8 juice
- 2 beef bouillion cubes
- 1/2 cup red wine
- pepper
- mashed potatoes (no milk)
- Brown the meat.
- Chop the veggies in a food processor. Add the veggies, liquid and seasoningto meat and simmer for 1 hour.
- Refrigerate for 1 day in a casserole dish.
- When ready to serve, make mashed potatoes fresh with no milk - spread ontop of the meat mixture, dot with butter, and put under the broiler untilslightly browned. It helps to heat up the shepherd's pie first before themashed potato step, because the middle won't be hot enough if it's just warmedunder the broiler.
